Whew child, it’s June. Those New Year resolutions are hanging on by a thread (I quit the whole stop cursing thing on day 3 lol). The weather is a mess. Trump is still president. 2019 isn’t shaping up to be the year that anybody thought it was going to be so far. However, there is an upside. We’ve decided to bring our facebook Hair Growth Challenge back on March 31st. In honor of it’s return, we wanted to share with you some tips that will speed up your hair growth!
Vitamins
Hair growth vitamins are da bomb! Whether in liquid or pill form, they definitely give a huge booster in hair growth! When searching for a vitamin always look for ones with protein and vitamin B especially if your diet is deficient of those things like mine. I personally am a huge fan of the Curls Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin. Although I don’t take it anymore (prenatals got your girl covered in the vitamin department for the next 19 weeks or so), it has a slew of vitamins and it can be mixed in your morning tea without changing the taste!
Weekly Deep Conditioning
Hydration is a HUGEEEEE part of hair growth. Hair needs to be hydrated (not just moisturized) in order for it to grow and retain length. Without hydration hair will grow brittle and weak. Weak hair is prone to damage, and that ain’t what we want. So once a week, sit down and give your hair a luxury hydrating treatment. Whether you whip up you deep conditioner in your blender or it’s store bought, your hair will appreciate it and so will you!
Scalp Stimulation
Now unless this is your first time reading a blog post from me (if so hey gurl how ya doing??), you already know what I’m about to say. Scalp stimulation will change your life and your hair. Something as simple as a nightly scalp massage with your favorite oil can get the hair growth going! Stimulating your scalp promotes blood circulation and increases the strength of your hair roots. If you don’t wanna get down to the nitty gritty with your fingers there’s dozens of scalp massagers on the market. I prefer using the Groove Scalp Massaging Brush when I’m shampooing. I use a tea tree oil shampoo and the combination of the two not only makes my hair feel good, but it’s relaxing as well!
Protective Styles
Leaving your hair alone is the easiest way to retain length. Your ends are the oldest and most delicate part of your hair. So you need to protect them since they are prone to damage and breakage. A protective style doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. A simple bun or cornrows will keep your hair protected, AND you’ll look fly while doing it!
Now that you’re armed with the tools to smash your hair goals let us know what are some tips to keep your hair from plateauing. If you need more tips or just help in general taking care of those precious tresses, make sure you follow us on social media and join our Hair Growth Challenge group on Facebook. Our challenge doesn’t start until March 31st but we still answer every comment and question.
